I saw a long post on this and I'm having the same problem as of now. just a few hours before this post my pngs where coming out just fine. I have been using AI for years and never had this problem ever! but i do know what i did to cause the issue i placed an svg file into one of my projects. I know this caused the problem because yesterday i exported an icon from this same project at the same size and everything was crispy. But every since i placed that svg file into my illustrator it altered the way my pngs export. I've tried new projects, different sizes and everything else but still no luck everything i export is blurry now. now i have to go back and forth with photoshop to get my crispy results back its an extra step that i don't like but its the most productive. if anyone knows why this file type would cause this issue id like to hear someone eleses opinion.
I'm Stupid! i see what happened! I never checked my Document settings it must have changed when i dragged the svg in on a blank setup and Illustrator adjusted to its size thus well you know lol. sorry my mistake. no shame in my game thanks for trying to help guys. and if any one else runs into the whole blurry issue i sometimes make it big, export it and shrink it down to the size i really need it to be. I hope this helps anyone having the blurry issues.

Can you repeat that in other files, placing that svg causing blurry png export?
If so, can you share that svg?

Foot Sign Vector SVG Icon (2) - SVG Repo here is a link to the SVG i tried to use. im using older versions of both photoshop and Illustrator and i refuse to stick it in photoshop and try it. another thing i noticed is that i don't have an option to export or save as SVG in either of these programs. So my guess as a half witted programmer is that svg is a newer format and it replaces the usage of using .png to export vector files. So once you use them in older software they alter the export process somehow. They work fine visualy and i was impressed by the fact that i could instantly after placing the file format into my document change the outline color and fill color but they alter the way pngs are exported (i think). I also noticed that i couldn't trace, expand or rasterize the SVG file and these are some simple processes i have been using for years for making icons for UI. i never knew SVG existed until last night and that's why im so skeptical about the format. "This is just an assumption" let me know what you think or know on the subject mater.

oh and yes i tryied exporting older documents that use to export just fine until i used an SVG formatted file. I use to get nice and crispy .png vector art! no mater the size. but now they are useless unless i place the document in photoshop then save as .png file.

WHen you import an SVG into Illustrator, it's no longer "SVG formatted".
Please show the results and for comparison your other results (the Photoshop export as well as some Illustrator export that is OK for you)

Which version of Illustrator are you using?
I don't see any problems with that svg file, opened in Illustrator they are just editable vector paths.
You mention "I use to get nice and crispy .png vector art"
There is no such thing as png vector art, png is an image pixel format.
What are your png export settings?
