Illustrator exporting dashed line with a solid line behind it?

I'm having trouble exporting an Illustrator file as a PDF & PNG; the file contains lots of dashed lines, but when I export it adds a thin solid line along with the dashed lines. Like this:

Original AI version:

Exported PDF version:

Exported PNG version:

I've already tried expanding the dashed lines and converting them to shapes and that hasn't made a difference. Anyone know why this is/how I can fix it?

Please help!

Can you check if there's a fill applied to the dashed line?

Or maybe there are two strokes applied?

Check the appearance panel

In Illustrator View >>overprint preview

Check your Acrobat settings to turn on  overprint and toggle your line settings

What exactly is wrong in the .png, seem to be closer to your .ai. Since you also have issues with in your .png  leads me to support Monika's suggestions or that you are not viewing with over-tin print on at 100% view. Can you post a copy of the file using dropbox or similar?

Thanks for your suggestions - Monika solved it, there was a black fill applied several stages back that I couldn't see!

Luckily I'd kept the original 'rain' I'd made so went back and checked that and there was a black fill applied! Which had gotten lost in the expanding process I guess? So I couldn't see it! Thank you!
