Dear all,
I know exporting a font that I created on my own is not an original function from Illustrator, it requires a plug-in to do. I was wondering if there is any recommended free plug-in for Illustrator from the Creative Cloud suite that I can use. I saw a lot of people recommend Fontself, but it requires a one-time purchase without any trial. I'm just starting to learn how to do some typography, so I'm not sure if I want to purchase it at this point (maybe will do once I know there is more use of it in my career), therefore, I would love to start with some trials.
Thank you.
Karen
Fontself is a pretty inexpensive plugin (one time $39 fee for Illustrator, $59 for the Illustrator & Photoshop bundle). Stand-alone font editors such as FontLab or Glyphs cost a lot more (Glyphs is Mac-only). There is a decent number of YouTube videos that provide a good overview of Fontself and some how-to tips.

I don't think that there is another plugin for Illustrator.
You have to either use online services or other apps.

What do you mean? You want to try it out and then check whether designing fonts is something you want to do?
There are other options for designing fonts. Check out Birdfont, it's free for personal use. It's just slightly more tedious than Fontself, but not too much.
