So adobe seemed to release the version for M1 according to this news. But after upgrading the software, it still says Intel... any idea?
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. The first phase of Illustrator 25.3 (natively supported on M1) was released recently. The update will be rolled out in a phased manner and many of you might not see the updates as it has been made live for Australia, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Netherlands and Switzerland based Adobe IDs only. We will be rolling out the updates to all regions soon.
We'd request you to stay tuned for the updates & thanks in advance for your patience.
Regards,
Ashutosh

The beta version of Illustrator for the silicon mac is available. I'm using it now. You can find it in your creative cloud App window on the left side, Beta apps. 🙂

Hi Ashutosh,
I have recently updated my Illustrator plugin aip to support Apple silicon M1 chip but found the recompiled universal plugin errors out on Illustrator 2020. It runs fine on Illustrator 2021 and 2022. See the error I got below.
I have compiled the aip on Windows too. Same issue, the recompiled aip runs on Illustrator 2021 and 2022, but error out on Illustrator 2020.
Dev Env (Windows):
Windows 10
VC 2017 and VC 2019 (tried both)
Illustrator 2022 SDK
