Question

Illustrator gradient

I'm having a very important and annoying crisis. I've been trying to use the radial gradient in Illustrator from pink to black but for some reason, it creates a muddy grey colour in the middle. I tried making both sides of the gradient pink and I changed the opacity of one of them to 0, but the grey muddy pink colour still wouldn't leave. I'm actually quite frusterated as this is such a small problem andI should've been able to fix this ages ago -- what do I do?

Try filling the object with a solid pink fill. Then, in the Appearance panel, add a gradient fill above it. Set the gradient to go from 100% opacity black to 0%, and set the blending mode of the gradient fill to multiply.

A muddy gray in the middle sounds like what you would expect.  Try adding another gradient stop in the middle of your gradient ( pallette ) and see if you can adjust the color up or down for a better mix.  Give us a few screen shots so we can see your problem.

Try to add some pink to the black.

I can't, as I'm trying to make the colour fade into a black background.

And if you add some pink also to the black background?
