Question

Illustrator icon does not appear in Launchpad

I recently installed the update for Illustrator (2023), but it doesn’t display in my Launchpad app. I’ve tried uninstalling then reinstalling the Illustrator app, dragging the Illustrator app to the Launchpad icon in my Dock, and resetting Launchpad by removing the .db files from the “Dock” folder in my Library “Application Support” folder then restarting my computer, but none of those “fixes” fixed the problem. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Hello @KCH LTD,

Sorry to hear about this experience. Would you mind logging in to the root user account (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204012) and removing and reinstalling Illustrator to check if it helps?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Hi, Anubhav –

Thanks for the response, but I’m not comortable logging into the root account. If that’s the only (possible) solution, I’ll probably just live with it and grumble (about Adobe) every time I use Launchpad …
