Question

Illustrator Image Trace CMYK black and white option. How to make an Image Trace "Rich Black"?

I only see a Black and White option in the image trace edit tab. I don’t see a Rich Black option, or a way to choose my color and values after an image trace is enabled. Is there a solution? The controls that come with B&W are great. I am just looking for a way to control the ink color after I generate an image trace. More spisificly to a CMYK "Rich Black".

Thank you

Set up a colour group in the swatches panel with your rich black swatch and white. In the image trace panel, select Colour instead of B&W, set the Palette to Document Library and select your swatch group:

I tried that suggestion and the image turns into a black square. What I need is the capability of Logo / black and white processing is what I am looking for. The Logo / black and white processes the image perfectly. It also comes with threshold capabilitie.

The effect of color custom swatch selection

What i need is Logo / B&W/ & threshold. But with the ablity to change the color.

You just have black in your colour group; you need black and white.

But if you need the threshold slider, you will need to use the black & white preset and change your black definition after expanding the trace result.
