Illustrator inaccurate color HEX when pasting from another document

Hello, recently I've been working on a project that required some assets to be pasted from previous projects.

When I try to paste the object, the color on the actuall display is correct, but when I click on the color swatch the HEX code is not for the color that is displayed, it's kinda washed out and darker. I also get a message, about converting profiles from sRGB to Destination:Display, when pasting the object. I'm on MacBook Pro M1. Please help.

That is what Color Managent does when converting from one profile to another it will try to keep the look, but in order to do that it will have to change the numbers.

What do you Color Settings look like?

If you create new documents it will use the profiles from the Color Settings.

If you open an image (like a screendump) it will use the profile from the image (which in the case of a screendump could be Display).

Hex colours look different depending on your ICC profile. (A lot of people on the internet like to imagine the hex code is a universal colour). What is the document RGB profile?
