Illustrator is so slow

Illustrator is close to unuable since the AI's been added. The AI which is really not great as it stands now.

Is there a way to turn the AI off as it doesnt create much usable graphics and have the software run normally. It is horribly slow at the moment and makes the workflow really poor. I don't want to downgrade to previous versions as all new work is saved on current.

Exactly what is slow?

In case you are on a Mac: do you have the apps Rectangle or Magnet installed? They are not compatible with Illustrator. Other Window Managers might be affected as well. Also Proofpoint might cause issues.

Version 28.5, but it has been doing the same thing since first AI version. Latest Beta does the same.

I am on Windows 10.

The entire software freezes on simple actions like move objects, copy, ctrl actions. Long pauses almost every other action.
