Helllo, I'm running into the exact same issue with illustrator. I've done the CEP part, but there isn't a UXP folder like there was a CEP folder. Any thoughts?

Hi! I had this problem with illustrator 28.1 , now 28.2, but I don't have this file. Could this be part of the issue? Many thanks ~

Everyone has Preferences. If you do not see them, then maybe you do not have sufficient access privileges.

Hi @Tori09,
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with Illustrator & Photoshop getting stuck on a black screen. Based on the attached screenshot, you might be using an older version of Illustrator & Photoshop. As a first step, I would recommend updating to the latest version of Illustrator, as there were known issues with older versions that have been resolved in the newer versions.
If updating doesn't resolve the issue, please let us know, and we'll explore other potential solutions to help you resolve the problem.
Best,
Anshul Saini

Hello, I'm having the exact same issue. My app is fully up to date, I've uninstalled, reinstalled multiple times. I've ran through the process of renaming all the things mentioned to .old , and before that I also tried the adobe clean up thing I found in the forums as well. Still the same issue for me. Any help?

I have the same problem, I installed from Creative Cloud InDesign and PhotoShop and I work fine with both. That does not happen with Illustrator 29.0 (the last one Creative Cloud gives me) I have followed all the steps indicated and none of them works. I work on a lenovo IdeaPad 5 laptop with AMD Ryzen 7 5700U with Radeon Graphics 1.80 GHz and 16 Gb RAM. The system is Windows 11 Pro 24H2 and I only use microsoft defender. I did a clean install of the system 15 days ago.

I'm sorry to hear the suggestions did not help. Would you mind performing a clean reinstallation of the GPU drivers (Intel / NVIDIA / AMD) and setting the Graphics Preference to High-Performance for Illustrator (https://adobe.ly/3YrBqLP) and checking if it helps?
If the problem persists, please try the following steps and share your observations:
