Illustrator keeps distorting my font png

Hi,

My objective is to take my png image that is a black font text and turn it into a vector file. However, when i image trace the png it immediately distorts the font. Im having to adjust the tracing in advanced settings but it still doesnt look like the original image.

Why is this happening? What can I do to just simply turn this png into a vector without dealing with adjusting settings?

FYI. I tried retype beta and it did not find the correct font for me but for some reason image trace doesnt distort the fonts when they apply in retype beta.

If your resolution is good., try adjusting your settings, especially corners,. If you still need help, pleae post your before image.

If it's just text, then identify the font and do some typesetting.

Try the Retype feature to identify the font.

How well Illustrator can convert a PNG into a vector has to do with the resolution and size of the PNG. The higher the resolution and the larger the file, the better your results will be. Illustrator can't guess what you want to do with the vectors (or know how you want them to look: rounded, corners, etc), so adjusting the settings is to be expected.

What's the size and resolution of your PNG?
