Illustrator keeps opening multiple instances while opening another file

Ever since the latest update (I think was last week) whenever I open a file from my folders tab or Bridge, Illustrator opens a new instance. I wasn't used to do this. I run it on an updated Windows 11.

I solved the issue alone. When CC automatically downloaded, it kept every single one of the 2024 apps... So I have duplicated of the same software in my PC. Illustrator 24 is fixed on my task bar, so I use it usually, but when it got installed, 2025 defaulted to the standard file program... So it opened 2025.

Now I'm having to manually uninstall every single CC app 2024 I have.

Thank you though!

Hello @izabelasantiago,

I am sorry to hear about your experience. I tried replicating this on my end but could not. Would you mind sharing more details, like the exact version of Bridge/Illustrator installed and a screen recording of the problem so I can check it with the team?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
