If your panels are not opening it could mean that you have to reset your Illustrator preference files.

To do so:

For Macintosh Users: With Illustrator closed launch a Finder Window in column view and click on your home folder. With the Option Key pressed choose Library from the Finder Go Menu. Within the Library folder find the following two files and delete them: “Adobe Illustrator <Version #> Settings” (earlier versions of Illustrator might just say “Adobe Illustrator”) and “com.adobe.Illustrato

If your panels are not opening it could mean that you have to reset your Illustrator preference files.

To do so:

For Macintosh Users: With Illustrator closed launch a Finder Window in column view and click on your home folder. With the Option Key pressed choose Library from the Finder Go Menu. Within the Library folder find the following two files and delete them: “Adobe Illustrator <Version #> Settings” (earlier versions of Illustrator might just say “Adobe Illustrator”) and “com.adobe.Illustrator.plist”. When Illustrator is next launched it will create new preference files and the program will be restored to its defaults.

After you’ve reset up the program (make sure that no document window is open) to your liking, it is a really good idea to create copies of your personalized “mint” preference files (make sure that you quit the program before copying them—that finalizes your customization) and use them in the future to replace any corrupt versions you may need to delete.

For Windows Users: Hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift when launching Illustrator and respond affirmatively when asked if you want to reset.

The answer they always give is reset your preferences. How many f*cking times a month does a user need to do this? It's become a full time job being my own Adobe IT dept and more than half the time it doesn't solve anything. This default solution is Adobe devs way of saying "piss off".

The other default answer is to disable GPU performance. Sure, most of us who shelled out for these expensive rigs want to disable our $1000 GPUs... what a joke.

I'm dealing with several bugs today at the same time that I've been dealing with for years. There's zero documentation on the issues and customer support will remote in to your PC and waste 3 hours of your time resetting, reinstalling, etc and then give up leaving your device in a worse state.

My frustration for Adobe QA is at max after 20 years. Canva and other consumer based design programs are improving much faster than Adobe and soon our f*cking clients will have better support. This is 100% unacceptable and as paying customers, we should not just have to accept it.

#1 priority for Adobe should be to focus on new efficient codebases that eliminate the 20 years of patching and bloat. We still have to do very antequated processes because that's how it was done in the 90's.  Until they address this, each iteration of CC gets worse. Load times are a joke now, UI is unreliable, and support is non-existent.
