Illustrator locking up when using copy.

I am having trouble with illustrator locking up when i try to copy a floor plan to paste into another drawing. The area selects blue when I copy but it hangs up. I get a continuous "not responding". Illustrator 2022 with all updates. Using on a windows machine.

Hi, sorry about your problem

First, do you have guides? mybe lock the guide before you copy (right click over the page and lock guide)

ANother solution is maybe if you reset the preferences will work.  take a look in this link
