Question

Illustrator named Spot Colours in Library Reverting to CMYK

We use shared colour libraries in Illustartor however there's a bug where the colours retain the name in the library, but when you click on the colour to fill an object, that colour is now a CMYK value not the named colour.  This occurs if it's a custom made name or a Pantone.

This issue is happening across multiple computers and systems so would like to know when this will be fixed.

Thanks

PANTONE spot colors are no longer included as part of Cretive Cloud programs. This is because PANTONE now has created a subscription only access to their colors called PANTONE Connect. For more information about this either go to PANTONE's website or check out https://exchange.adobe.com/apps/cc/103029/pantone-connect#.

Hi Bill, yes I understand the Pantone situation, lets not go there.
However this isn't releated to pantone libraries not being included, it's to do with a bug on spot colour names in the library, it doesn't matter if the name is user created or a pantone named spot colour.

I've since found mentions of this same issue going back years so is Adobe doing anything to fix it with the customers subcription funds is the main consideration we have.

Yes, these problems have been reported in 2017.

See this Uservoice report (I think the name should be fixed, they don't get added twice anymore):
