Illustrator Navigator Bug

Navigator is non functional, not sure when it began, fairly recently.

Clicking anywhere on navigator while zoomed in just starts scrolling the artboard down slowly.
Previously clicking on a section in navigator would take me to that region of the artboard, now it just slowly scrolls the main view in the opposite direction to where i've clicked in navigator.

This just happened to me as well, can confirm that it occured when creating large artboards for signage, I don't know what triggered it exactly but just wanted to confirm it is still happening. My artboards were 33x78.5 inches and I had 6 of them.

I am absolutely having this issue too! You are not alone!

It weirdly seems like it us just us though. Right?

I cannot figure this out and it is causing huge headaches for such a seemingly small thing.

Hi there,

Sorry about the delay. I am hopeful that the issue was fixed. If not, please try the suggestions shared on this page (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator/resolve-slow-performance-and-unexpected-behaviors-in-illu...) and let us know how it goes.

Feel free to let us know if you still need assistance. We'd be happy to help.

None of this works. There appears to be a bug mapping the movement of the red window in the navigator pane to the canvas. Using a mouse to move the red pane should reposition the actual canvas so that large canvases can be searched quickly. The actual result is using a mouse to manipulate the red pane causes unpredictable and unexpected movement of teh canvas.

I would like to verify that even in Illustrator 2025 this bug still exists, without much discussion on it apparently. Has anyone discovered a solution, other than just having fewer artboards?

This bug has been around since at least the CS2 days, and what triggers it is a large area (how far apart the farthest objects are) on the canvas being occupied by graphics - I do signage, which can get large, so this bug shows up all the time.  Other than not using the navigator, there doesn't seem to be a solution yet.

Looks OK to me.

Which devices are you using? a graphic tablet? Whichkind of computer? Which kind of pointing device?

Just a regular mouse. Can reproduce on PC and Mac.
