illustrator not closing and stuck in task bar

Question

Hi, I use Illustrator very frequently and after last Wednesday, it has been stuck in my taskbar and won't close or open. It seems to be a new version that is open, and it allows me to open version 27.9.1 (Illustrator 2023) from the Creative Cloud app but not from my taskbar or launch pad. I've tried quitting the app multiple times, but it won't leave the taskbar; I believe the version that is stuck there is 28.2. (illustrator 2024) I've also tried restarting my Macbook, but it's telling me the app is still running, and it also won't let me uninstall or update the app.

I've also tried checking for it in the All Windows tab, but it's not there either. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks 🙂

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
