Illustrator only works when not connected to the internet.
Hello,
I have an issue where Illustrator only works when I launch when I am not connected to the internet. When I launch it when I am not connected to the internet, I can use it with no issues. I am using a 2024 Macbook Air.
However, when I launch the program while connected to the internet, I run into many issues such as:
- Files take a very long time to open.
- Transforming objects either takes ages or doesn't work at all.
- When selecting different objects, the bounding box moves but the transform handles don't move.
- Undo doesn't work
- When moving objects, I get a big visual glitch.
I have looked up other forum posts which suggest things such as, turn off live drawing and editing, make sure gpu performance is checked, uncheck save in background, I have updated the system OS to the latest version of Sequoia, I have tried multiple different versions of Illustrator (2026 and multiple versions of 2025).
None of these seem to have any effect what so ever.
Has anybody else run into this issue? And would anybody know of a solution. Currently I am opening the program without connecting to the internet, and then I am turning the Wifi back on in order to access my cloud files. Not exactly ideal.
Thanks!
