Illustrator out glow not working...

Hi

Illustrator CC.

I had previously made a map with a nice out glow using bright blue with 75% saturation, 24 pts. It gave me the attached screen shot. Exactly like I wanted it!

 

But I am now trying to do the same thing with another map and using the same settings, it is just not happening. I would have attached the .ai file here but apparently I can't for some reason. SO let me know what settings I should check in my file to make this work?  I am selecting a path and trying to apply the outer glow to that path.

Here is a screen shot of the map where I am trying to apply the outer glow. You can kind of see a very faint glow, but nothing like the one above!

 

 

I am relatively new to Illustrator.

Thank you. Main issue with your file is that the object only has a stroke, but no fill. Apply a fill of white and then there will be your outer glow.

Thank you. Main issue with your file is that the object only has a stroke, but no fill. Apply a fill of white and then there will be your outer glow.

Probably change the blend mode of the outer glow to normal?

No - I tried all those blend combinations!
