Question

Illustrator Place command not working

After a while working on a medium size document, File - Place (or command-shift-P) doesn't work. It shows some of the place dialog embeded in the document as a glitch.

If we reset preferences works for a while and does it again. tried Illustrator versions 2022 and 2023, on MacOS Monterey 12.6.2.

Any ideas? Thanks

Hi @Satbir Singh Phul,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing that you're also running into this issue. To understand this better, could you please confirm the version of Illustrator you're currently using and the details of your operating system? Also, does this issue happen with a specific file, or do you notice it across all files, including new ones?

When you go to File > Place, what exactly happens, does the dialog not appear at all, or does it appear distorted or glitchy like mentioned earlier? If possible, could you share a short screen recording showing the issue in action?

In the meantime, please try resetting your Illustrator preferences by following the steps here: (make sure to backup preferences before resetting)

Let us know if that helps and share your observations after the reset.

Looking forward to your update!

Is this happening on just one document or all documents?

When happens, it happens to all documents afterwarrds. And sometimes it starts with a new document. We did some basic troubleshooting and its behaving, but can't put figer on what did it
