Question

Illustrator running so slow on new MacBook machine

I just got the brand new mac book pro and reinstalled illustrator and it is running so slow.  Anyone else have this problem of just the app running slow and how to resolve?  I can't find any reason for it to be this slow.   I saw someone else saying something about the Magnet app, but I don't have that on my computer. Any other suggestions?

We're sorry to hear you are experiencing Illustrator slowness issues on your new Mac. In addition to what our experts have said, could you please also try the steps suggested in this article: https://adobe.ly/4dMsTu5, and let us know if that helps?

We will be happy to assist you further.

Thanks,

I went in and deleted unnecessary fonts and checked the printer in que.  All looks good and still the slowness in Illustrator.

What version of Illustrator did you install and what version of the Mac OS? The latest version of Illustrator is 29.5.1 and the latest Mac OS is 15.5. Make sure that you are up to date.

Please tell us the hardware and system specifications of your Macbook.

If you do not have Magnet - do you have any other Window manager?

MacBook Pro: Apple M4 Pro chip with 24 GB memory, running the Sequoia 15.5

Illustrator: 29.5.1

My Stage Manager is toggled off.  Is there somewhere else that one would be hiding?

Thanks so much.

Is that happening with all files or just specific ones?
