Has anyone else struggled with Illustrator’s outdated chart design tools? While Illustrator remains a powerhouse for vector graphics, the charting feature feels stuck in the past.
For agencies working in editorial design, high-quality and flexible charting tools are essential. Yet, Illustrator’s built-in chart functionality lacks customization and requires tedious workarounds to achieve modern, polished results. Shouldn’t Adobe provide a more intuitive and adaptable solution for data-driven design?
What are your experiences with Illustrator’s chart functionality? How do you work around its limitations? Let’s start a discussion.

Yes, this is a common topic of discussion over the years. Ideas have come and gone but nothing has yet come of them.

Yes - Please... Adobe... update it. Simple items like the inability to chart positive and negitive numbers in the same chart. The inability to do a combination line and bar chart. The limitation on values that the charts can work with can also be frustrating.
