Illustrator saving unknown error

Hi all,

I'm having an issue during file savings.

It's happened suddenly with apparently no reason.

I bought the complete Adobe Pack and Illustrator is fully updated.

Mine is a Mac Book Pro OSX El Capitan. 2,2 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 Gb DDR3 1600 Mhz, Intel iris Pro 1536 MB.

I have a similar issue that just started yesterday.  At first I thought the file was corrupt, but even a new file will not save.  I do not get an error, but my computer freezes up and I have to ctrl-alt-del to get it to exit.

CS6 64 bit (16.0.3)

Windows 7 Enterprise (6.1)

If installing a PDF printer does not help, please create your own thread. It will get confusing to discuss Mac and Windows issues in the same thread and will help nobody.

Where do you save your files?

Is a printer connected, set up and turned on?

Are all your fonts OK and font management (if any) up to date?

Hi Monika,

I do not have printer connected and I've never had it.

Regarding fonts, I downloaded some from the toolkit from the beginning but they're updated.

Moreover, in this file I used Myriad Pro so I don't think it is the problem.

Install a printer. If you don't have one, install a PDF printer. And then try again.

What exactly is the issue you're having? Is the file not saving? Or are you getting some sort of error message?

Hi Nikcav and Monika,

I suddenly got the error message "Illustrator will not save files. Unknown error has occured."

I usually save my files on the desktop and then re-organize them.
