illustrator selection tool not working again.

Im over it. 2x this week since last update. Any recommendations on another application I can use?

I hit shift command B and I could adjust size but then it went back to the problem. layer not locked

And you are using the selection tool (black arrow)?

When was the last time you rebooted the system? If this goes on and off erratically then the first thing to try would be a system reboot and the next thing could be a preferences reset.

I have restarted my computer several times and I am also having issues with the selection staying selected once I select a different too - so if I have a selection with the black arrow tool and want to use the pen+ tool it deselects the path - which defeats the whole purpose.

As the title states the selection tool not working can't select anything and resize or arch or etc.......

Me either!

I just finished updating all the (*removed by moderator) adobe products and my mac to the latest software and I can't select anything with the either the black arrow and only sometimes with the direct selection.

I have been having to go into the layers and find things there and select them, which will actually select it... but good luck getting it to do anything, like move or change colour... I almost smashed my mouse and my trackpad trying to.

And another thing... eyedropper tool just changes the colour or stroke to a blank box with a red line through it.
We are paying so much for this software, like how can it be worse than the 90s

And before I am told to close and reopen or reboot ... I can not perform my paid job if every 2 minutes I am forced to close and restart and never actually get any work done.
I want to cry its so bad
