Illustrator und Indesign akzeptieren gewollte Breite 8 Meter nicht.

Servus, ich möchte ein Banner in Größe 800x200cm anlegen und wenn ich das sowohl bei illustrator als auch bei indesign versuche springt mir die Weite immer auf 577.955cm zurück. Wenn ich jetzt beispielsweise ein neues Dokument in den Maßen 577.955x200 cm erstelle und dann im Nachhinein das Artboard auf 800cm Breite erweitern möchte, bekomme ich die Meldung, dass das nicht geht wegen der zu kleinen Canvas Size. Kann es sein, dass 577.955cm die maximale Artboard Größe beschreibt? Wie lege ich ein Banner mit 8 Meter Breite an?

Bei diesen Größen muss man maßstäblich arbeiten.

Ich würde mit der Druckerei alles absprechen.

577.955 cm x 577.955 cm (18.9 feet) is the maximum size for an artboard in Illustrator. If you do your art at 50% size (4 meters) you should be alright. Just remember if you have any resolution dependent images that they will need to be twice the required resolution at this size so that they will have the correct resolution when they are output by your printer at 200% of the size you've built the job at. Always speak to your printer, if possible, before preparing art that may need special preparation, such as this.

You should also be aware that any raster effects will require a correspondingly higher Effect>Document Raster Effects setting.

The easiest way may be to simply create everything in mm instead of cm: with that you can use the exact same (numerical) values, and since it will be at 1:10, the Document Raster Effects setting must be 10 times the desired final resolution.

Obviously, the resolution of any raster images at the final size must be adequate, but that just means that the pixel x pixel size must be adequate in the first place completely independent of the size it is placed at, scale or no scale: a placed image retains its inherent size so its resolution in an AI document is inverse proportional to the size it is scaled to (no resampling as is possible in PS).
