I was having some issues with Illustrator. When i tried to place a file within a artboard it would crash. If i tried to save a PDF, it would crash.

So i decided to uninstall and reinstall AI. Now, it won't even load.

When it crashes, all it says is:

Adobe Illustrator CC 2017 has stopped working.

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the programs and notify you if a solution is available".

I get nothing else but that.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Does that only happen with a specific file or with all files?

WHere is the file located? Are you working off a network?

Which system is it?

Right now, after doing a fresh install of illustrator, illustrator does not even load up. It crashes before fully loading.

Prior to the fresh install, it would happen every time i tried to place a file or save a pdf. The file i was trying to place was on my hard drive.

Illustrator is installed on my hard drive.

I'm using Windows 10.

When Illustrator starts to load, i've pressed Control, Alt and Shift and nothing happens. I've pressed it, and held it down too. Nothing happens. I also pressed it and held down the keys before trying to open Illustrator and a request to allow illustrator to make changes popped up, but illustrator just crashed. I've held the keys down through the process, tried letting it go after the "make changes" option popped up......nothing.

Did you run the Adobe Cleaner tool after uninstalling?

This looks like some more serious issue.

I uninstalled all the CC programs, including the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app. I used the cleaner tool. I rebooted. I reinstalled AI, and the issue is the same.

I have the same problem...

InDesign crashed constaantly since Update to CC 2018 on W10... Found solution with a patch this morning...

And now after an update with Illustrator... The same...

PDF as standard-Printer doesn't help...

Reinstall doesn't help either

Is there a patch also?

How can you solve this problem???

Thanks
