Illustrator will not accept color from imported AI Generator images

Most of the time illustrator gives me an "error unknown" and crashes when I use the eyedropper tool to get color from an AI Generator image. Ihave tried to save the adobe file and the imported image as a pdf. It seems to kind of work, but still the "error unknown" pops up. Also, my menu bar won't respond when I click on it. I have used illustrator for many many years and I think this bug is something new, at least for me. It is really causing anxiety for me.

Did you try to restart your machine?

Make a backup of your preferences and reset them?

Fairytales? Wow! I think you are the one telling the tales. I'm stating facts. I'm not getting anywhere with you. But thanks for your effort. Everyone has to be loyal.

There is nothing special with the images that would prevent Illustrator from working with it.

If you have problems, they will probably happen with similar sized images and similar editing in Illustrator.

You say "I'm stating facts" but also "I am only speculating here. I could be totally wrong"

I think you are wrong speculating that Illustrator willingly prevents working with your images.
