Hello! I'm experiencing issues with opening the Illustrator app on my computer. Every time I try to launch it, the app just stalls and won’t fully load. I have a new MacBook, and this hasn't happened before—other Adobe applications open without any problems. I’ve tried reinstalling Illustrator, updating—basically everything I can think of—but nothing seems to work. What should I do? Please help!

Please tell us the hardware and system specifications.
When reinstalling, did you run the Cleaner tool? https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

Thank you. 16 GB pof RAM is on the low side, but Illustrator should launch.
In the forum we don't have a lot of support knowledge gathered of system 15, but compared to 14 when it was new that sounds like a good thing.
The Cleaner tool cleans. It gets rid of the things Adobe installed on your computer. So if there is anything you wish to keep, like custom swatches or brushes, pull them out of the system folders and into a secure place before running the Cleaner tool.

Hello again, thank you for your response! I managed to access the app just in this moment. Sometimes it works, like now and for a short time yesterday, but other times it just freezes and stalls all day. Is there anything I can do to fix this now that I’m actually in the program? Now that I'm in the app, I can open my files easily, and everything seems to be working. However, I’m worried that if I close the app, the same issue as yesterday will happen, where it stops functioning.
Thank you in advance!

How many fonts are installed?
Are you using third party plugins?
With just 16 GB of RAM - what else is running? Even browsers can ruin your day, since they are memory hungry.
How often do you reboot the system?

I previously had a Wacom tablet installed on my computer, but I’ve now uninstalled it. I think I may have a lot of fonts downloaded as well—should I delete the ones I've downloaded, and if so, how do I do that?
By "reboot," do you mean restarting the computer? I've been doing that more frequently since the issues started, but it doesn’t seem to have helped. My memory pressure is green when I check Activity Monitor, I’ve attached a screenshot of the memory section (it's in Swedish, but I hope you can still get a sense of it). I’m not very good at interpreting what everything means myself. Something called “AIRobin” is using a lot of memory, and I’m not sure what that is.
Thanks in advance!

Hello @AnnaCarinB,
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind validating all of your fonts (https://adobe.ly/3CezEWV) to check if it helps?
Also, try adding Illustrator to Full Disk Access (https://adobe.ly/4hDASen) and share your observations.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

AIRobin handles background saving.
You can disable that in the Illustrator Preferences.
To uninstall fonts you can either use Fontbook (if you have used that for installing fonts resp. the font management application of your choice) or just move them out of the folder where you installed them (most probably the Fonts folder in your user library)
