  This issue was also addressed in Windows OS 8.1. until they told me it is windows 8.1 that causes the issue, must upgrade to 10...I changed it to OS 10 Pro.

  there is a glitch or maybe a bug within illustrator, when rendering an image or a vector whether you are tracing an image or just simply working with it, it tents to go completely black screen for few seconds and sometime just freeze. It could either be a mem leakage which means something in the illustrator drives the RAM  to max to freeze the OS or drive the Processor to 100%, which in both matters a software should not do. specially when we are dealing with Adobe a well known, recognized company.

there is also an issue withing Flash Builder 4.6 which when you want to update or download software to create apps for mobiles the given URLs within the system itself are obsolete and dead links. to see this issue simply click on help, scroll down to download software, pop up windows opens click on available download sites, you will get this message...

Regarding windows OS 10 you can modify the updates as you like to your requirements.

As for cc or creative cloud and online systems, they are basically the same as cs6 version. with a bit more extensions added.

Thank you for you kind reply. I don't know my friend where the problem is from. tonight I tried to update the Flash builder and all the URLs within the software for auto update came back as wrong.

Illustrator is still freezing now and then and just can not understand what the problem is. that is why I bought 5TB externals as scratch disk but of no use...( I even called earlier to the so called chat with specialists ??? with all due respect to specialists within ADOBE company but these guys who basically had no idea what to do...kept on asking me for serial number and of course...kept on copy pasting this answer...."

Windows 8 should be supported, but 10 is not.

Older versions of Adobe Illustrator system requirements

Applications are developed on and tested on the systems that exists during time of development. In later systems the system manufacturer might change  components that are critical to run the application.

Let's imagine you designed an advertisement for a company. And they run it around the city. Now the city changes the design of their bus stations so they can only place portrait formats there. Yours is landscape. Would you adjust the advertisement from landscape to portrait for free? Which is basically what you demand: the system changes and you want to keep up with those changes, but you want to still continue to use CS6 without having to pay for the update.

Illustrator CS6 is not (fully) compatible with Windows 10.

This means that it might or might not work and it might break at any point, but nobody knows why it breaks.

Was "recently" perhaps after Windows performed an update?
