Image export - everytime 1 px bigger than the canvas or element

Hello everybody,

I have a problem with the Illustrator export as pixel based images.
JPEGs and PNGs are everytime 1 pixel bigger in width or height

in the resulting image than the elements or canvas/artboard dimension

is set in illustrator.

Because I have to create a new GUI with background images and a
full set of icons it is really inconveniant to open every PNG in Photoshop
again for resizing and re-saving.
Ticking the pixel grid button doesn't solve the problem unforunately.

Can you help me with it? Thanks for your replys in advance...

I had the same problem.  The solution was to make sure that the artboard on which the exported assets reside has x and y coordinates that are whole numbers (not decimals).  For example, my artboard was located at x=4750.7645 y=1100.883, and my 500px X 500px asset was exported into a 501px X 501px PNG.  When I moved the artboard to x=4750 y=1100, my asset exported as 500px X 500px.

We have made a fix in our latest release in Export for Screens and Asset Export. To use them you need to go to File > Export > Export > Export for Screens or Window > Asset Export. You need export them using scale or width/ height only.

P.S. : Your art and artboard should be pixel aligned. Also, all strokes aligned inside.

    Thanks & Regards

Still the same .. I m goinmg crazy here .. I design in cm because i make seamless print for clothes . Then whn i have to export i switch to pixels ( as in cm it loses some px and makes white lines in printing) . When i export in TIFF - which is the optimal file format for fabric printing - it triples up the size of my file! so it comes huge ! why is this happening ?? help

If the size in pixels is the size you need in cm than export at 72 ppi. This will not change the number of pixels in your file. PPI is just metadata, it will tell an application how many pixels must fit into an inch. With a low ppi you will get a large size, with a high ppi it will be small, all with the same amount of pixels.

Photoshop can change the PPI without changing the number of pixels if you go to Image > Image Size and Uncheck Resample.

Can you post a link to one of the actual files?

What is the unit of measure that your document settings are on? Is your artboard set up for the exact dimension in pixels?

    Work with pixels as units.

Make sure that the X Y position coordinates and the Artwork dimensions don't contain fractions.
