Hi I am fairly new at using illustrator but have come across a new problem that has seem to spring up out of no where. My image will look fine but then when I go to export it there is a small amount of transparency added to the image which causes it to be off center. I have also noticed that there's what seems like a fantom bounding box that I cant get rid of which may be causing this issue. I've included some screenshots in the imgur link. Please Help!

Update I tried to just export an artboard and it looks like I have something set wrong. It is only exporting the object and not the entire artboard. Any ideas?

You need to make sure in your export window you select the checkbox named Use Artboards.

Similar to Kevin, I had this problem but as soon as I converted text to outline (and therefore it was all inside the artboard instead of part of the object being outside) the problem was sorted.

I'm actually pretty darn familiar with illustrator and I just had a similar experience. I realized that I had an invisible node that I didn't see way off in the distance nowhere near my artboard (ROOKIE MOVE! lol.) This made the image export off-center with a ton of blank white space. If you use the command CTRL+Y (or command y) it will show you your artwork in outline mode. Use the same command to turn outline mode off. When in outline mode, you can clearly see any outlying nodes because they show up as X's. This is also a great tool for ensuring that your linework is perfect, once you start to get more techincal. I hope this helps someone!

Is the artboard aligned to the pixel grid? That is positioned on whole pixels?

I am not sure if the artboard is aligned to the pixel grid. How can I check this?

Hi,

you are correct, it looks like the blue bounding box is the one used to select what is exported. Can you share a screenshot of your Layers panel.

This would indicate which element you need to select and delete before exported as you desire.
