image size very large

my image appears too big when I insert or drop and drag in my Illustrator, so big that it covers my workspace and find it difficult to resize

In Photoshop:

Image > Image size.

Turn off the resampling

Input a resolution.

Opening will give you the same problem, if it is a low res file with many pixels, it will open very big.

If you create a new document and choose File > Place.. it will give you a loaded cursor and you can drag out a size.

Of course you can also scale the large image using the Scale Tool, double click it to set a percentage.

If you want to do it in Photoshop, see Monika's answer.

You could use File > Place instead of drag & drop.

Or set the resolution (ppi) without resampling in Photoshop or apps like Preview before dragging and dropping.

Thanks very much, but l actually opened it as a file and then try to bring it to my workspace it was the same thing but I think about setting the resolution as the main key, please how do I do that?
