Someone gave me a logo they have of a drawn owl. However, the pieces of it aren't selectable. It is shown in a square if I click on it. It is not grouped. I tried outline mode and it's gone. When I try image trace it disappears. I tried bringing into PS and taking just the pink, selecting all the pink and placing in a new doc, saving and reimporting into AI. Same thing. Attached is the original owl. Any thoughts?

It's a pixel image.

Trace it in Black & white and move the threshold slider to the right. Then you get the image.

Thanks. I tried that and it just gives me a black box.

The issue is it's not seeing the owl. It's only seeing the bounding box around it. I've tried manipulating it every way possible and still can't get it to see the owl. It keeps just tracing the box.

Do you open the EPS in Illustrator? If not, try that.

Yes, that's exactly what I was doing, but it never allows you to just select the pieces of the owl. Even on your video (and by the way, thank you so much for doing that, really kind of you), you end it before selecting each piece of the owl. I can get it to where you did, but it still doesn't make the actual owl into individual traced pieces.

You have to expand the trace in order to be able to select the pieces.

Amy,

The preview seems to be empty.

You can show the owl directly if you use the Insert Images button at the top of the Reply box (looks like moon over mountains).
