Image Trace not working.

I opened a image trying to do the image trace. It is grayed out.

What version of Illustrator and what operating system are you using? Did you have an image selected? It will be greyed out if no image is selected.

use the layers panel to check if your image is inside a clipping mask. if so, release it

Check a few areas before imaging tracing.

1. Is the image in a Layer that is Locked? if so Unlock Layer.

2. As mentioned in earlier thread, if Image is inside a clipping Mask?

Object>Clipping Mask>Release

This will help when selecting an image. Keep in mind when Mask has "Released"

it becomes an Unpainted Object (No fill or stroke color)

Don’t forget to select the image.
