Image trace options box disappears when selecting 'advanced' tab

Just ran into this today, usually the image trace and advanced options work just fine but I noticed this issue persisting ever since the options box took on a new look. 
Whenever I try to select my image, image trace, and then expand the advanced tab the entire window turns blank. I can't open or close the window through the 'windows' tab, and I cant bring back any of the options untill restarting illustrator. The only thing that still persists is the top tab which doesnt include advanced options. 
I use this pretty regularly for work, so any way I can bring this back would be extremely helpful!

I have also been having this issue. I am on version 28.3 and still having the issue. I use the Image trace tool extensively for my work, and desperately need it fixed.


Update: After trying all the suggestions here to no avail, I undocked the Image Trace Panel from the sidebar and now it is fuctioning properly. It's a bit of an inconvenience, having it undocked, but at least I can use the tool now.

You may want to try the update to 27.8 that fixes a lot of image trace issues.

I updated. It worked for 3 days and started doing it again.

    Sorry to hear about this experience. Would you mind trying to use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool (https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html) to remove Illustrator and then reinstall it using the Creative Cloud Desktop app (https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/using/download-creative-cloud-apps.html) to check if it helps?

    No answer to this issue yet? I use the advanced setting in Image Trace all the time. it's frusgrating that mine keeps crashing when I click Advanced.

              Pressing the Advanced section to refine the image trace result should not take away the entire Image trace window.

                Hi Lizztastic, 

                you can go back to a previous version.

                In the CC app go to Apps > All Apps

                Next to Illustrator you will see 3 dots

                Click and select Other Versions

                You can Uninstall Illustrator and install the previous version or leave the current Illustrator installed and install an additional previous version.

                This seems like the best option for now untill I can figure out whats going on in the newer version, or another update comes out.
