Imported EPS Stock files open pixelated in Illustrator

I am SO frustrated and would appreciate help. I am relatively new in AI and learning, so I suspect this is a stupid problem created by my inexperience. If so, I would love to know what stupidly simple fix I am missing! (fingers crossed)

I've tried to open multiple EPS stock in Ai and each one opens pixellated/chunky/patchy. I've attached what the file SHOULD look like, and what I see in Illustrator when I open it.

Hi there,

Sorry about the trouble. Could you please share a few more details like:

  • OS and version of Illustrator
  • Could you please share a sample EPS file with us? You can upload it to the Creative Cloud (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/share.html) and share the download link.
  • Did you download these EPS files? If yes, from where?
  • From where are you trying to open these EPS files? (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System/ External HDD)?
  • Who are you importing EPS in Illustrator? (Direct open, Placing from File Menu, or Drag & Drop)
  • Are there any recent changes made to your system? For example, any antivirus, system updates, or web extensions installed recently.
  • Does turning off GPU Performace from preferences (ctrl + k/ cmd + k > Performance > uncheck GPU performance) help resolve the issue?

We are here to help. We just need more information.

Thanks & Regards,

Anshul Saini
