Importing PSD flattens all layers

When I import (File | Place) a PSD with layers, Illustrator flattens them all to one layer. In my searching I've seen an "Import Options" checkbox discussed. However, on my 'Place" dialog, there's a "Link" checkbox, but no "Import Options" checkbox.

I do not want to edit my PSD layers, just view them for reference.

I'm running Illustrator 28.0 and Photoshop 25.0..0 on Win10.
