We are currently trying to find out if there is any imposition software out there that can be used with either Illustrator or something else like In-Design etc, i have found many different types out there that deals with In-Design but nothing that is of use with Illustrator.
We have a job for a customer that requires us to plan the pdf artwork 3 up onto a common sheet size, the job consist of 3 pages to every set, usually the artwork is set up with multiple pages, they can be in any multiple of 3 eg 3 page artwork to 300 page artwork etc.
Currently we set up the cutter onto the sheet size eg 3up cutter for the size (400x500mm job size) put in double cuts and CAD marks plus tick marks etc. We then set up a layer to put the artwork on into cropped boxes etc so nothing bleeds into the other. When we are happy with the placements, we then re-link the artwork into place for the different versions eg pages 1-3 of the artwork for sheet 1, pages 4-6 of the artwork for sheet 2 and so on.
We require CAD marks as well as tick marks on all the sheets plus we would like to have a code that we can put onto the bottom of the sheet if possible so we can tell which version we are printing easier than looking into the job itself, we do not mind doing this afterwards via acrobat if need.
I have attached an image for you guys to look over, it may make my explaining a bit easier to understand.
Can anyone help on this or have any idea of what software we can use to help us streamline this process we are currently doing which is very time consuming.
