Question

In Separation Preview Spot colors automatically converts to CMYK colors while using Blur effects

I had this problem on a release last year, and it was fixed. Now it is broken again.

I am working in CMYK with spot colors. When I add an effect (like Gaussian Blur) the color palette shows it as being that spot color, BUT when I do a separation preview that portion of the art is showing as CMYK. This makes using Illustrator a real hassle when the majority of the work I do is in spot colors.

Anyone know of a fix, or do we just work around it (AGAIN) until it gets fixed (AGAIN)?

Hi there,

Thanks for your time and patience. Could you please confirm if this issue is happening in Web and Mobile presets only or in all the presets? Also, could you confirm if this is happening on the latest Illustrator v25.3.1 as well?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks & Regards,
Anshul Saini
