In Ai you can use "CTRL+SHIFT+<" or "CTRL+SHIFT+>" for decreasing or increasing selected text font size. This shortcut is common shortcut for changing font size in many apps In Ai CTRL+scrolling mouse moves canvas.

I assume you are trying to scale text in a container.

Switch to the scale or transform tool. Illustrator does not  have a quick key like CTRL.

You can use the not key of S to switch to scale tool, then (v) to go back to slect tool.

While in the scale tool you can use hold down CTRL to switch to the Select tool, which is as similar to InDesign as I know of.

Thanks for both answers.

The scale tool doesnt change the font size numeric value, like indesign does. i'm looking for this feature.

Do you understand what am i trying to acheive?
