Installing Old Version of Adobe Illustrator with new OS

I have an old license of illustrator on disc that I never installed.  I tried to install it the other day but it wouldn't complete the installation.  Is there a way for me to download and apply this license to illustrator software that will work with my current operating system?

It would be be helpful if you  stated the  illustrator version you have on disc

and your current operating system

Sorry, yes it  is Adobe Illustrator 9.0 for windows.  My current operating system is Windows 10

I am afraid that on a newer Windows OS, 9 will only work within XP Mode, and I am afraid that Windows 10 has evolved to a state where that is no longer possible.

I will have another look to see the most recent information.
