iPad colour picker issue

Hi

I'm currently using AI on my iPad, over the past 12months it has worked pretty well ip until recently. 
Whenever I use the colour picker, the fill colour remains black and the item I am trying to colour reverts to transparent with no colour at all.

I have tried everything, from switching on/off to reinstalling adobe illustrator but nothing seems to work.

I'm also experiencing this issue. I'm not sure how to fix it and its really bugging me since its causing me to take more steps which is im turn making it take longer than it should. It's really frustrating.

Can you let us know if you recently updated your OS or the application.

Nope, nothing updated. 
it just stopped working during a design.

Since that happened, I've reinstalled the app and it was still doing the same.

 

Since then, I've started the app again and started a new design where the colour picker started working again and then stopped working only recognising every colour as black or transparent. 

I've just downloaded Procreate as I need something more stable.
