Hi All!
Newbie with a newbie question here..
I am trying to use the envelope distort feature (filling a shape with text) and I'd like to make some slight alterations to the text after it is being distorted.
I tried Expanding the text beforehand, which created the paths beorehand, but after applying the envelope distort effect, the paths seemed to have went away.
Is there any way to make this happen? Or do I have to manually draw in the desired adjustments?
Thank you so much!

After applying envelope distort there are 2 buttons in the control panel: edit contents and edit envelope.
It will be difficult to edit the contents, because while doing so you will not see the dirtortion. First expanding the envelope will be better for this.

Oof! I actually have one last step I'm trying to replicate here.. Before, while testing the expand for the envelope, I was somehow able to move the section in the bounding box freely (by holding command). Now, I can't seem to get the icon to reappear.. I can scale and rotate but no free transform. Any tips on what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks for your response Kurt!
I followed Monika's tip to expand the envelope which allows me to make the necessary changes I wanted 🙂
I appreciate ya!
