Is it possible to edit the opacity of guides in Illustrator?

There just a little too much sometimes. It'd be nice to cut them down to 50% or so if possible.

Go to Illustrator Preferences - Guides and Grid - top "Guides" click on the color box to right. You can adjust the color and brightness, but I don't think you can make them opaque.

A work around is to make a horizontal line and a vertical line (use .25pts or .5 its fro accuracy), expand if you want, and change the opacity of the fill. Then you can just copy and paste them. You can lock them like any other layer and place them using the "Properties" panel.

Advice: try to keep all guides in a separ

Or alternatively put all your guides on a single layer and give the layer its own opacity setting.
