Is there a way to reset linked files back to the original size?

Subject says it all. Looking for a way to simply reset dimensions of a linked or embedded file in Illustrator. Prefebly using an action or script so it can be "one-touch".

Select the linked image, then in the Links hamburger menu, select Placement Options, then change from "Preserve Transforms" to "Preserve File Dimensions".

thank you for the reply!

Unfortunately that's not what I'm looking for as "Preserve File Dimensions" doesn't allow it to be transformed again. Looking for a simple reset but then retain the ability to retain transformation. Like I just placed it into the document.

You're welcome.

It's a rather old script so maybe it has been written before Illustrator changed the cartesian quadrant.

Instead of preserve "file dimensions", you can select preserve "proportions" (fit or fill) and then scale your image as needed.

This doesn't work. The size didn't change.

Hello @ATF,

Could you try going to the Placement Options under the Links Panel menu and changing the Preserve to File Dimensions to see if that helps?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
