Issues saving multiple SVG files from 1 Illustrator file (multiple artboards)

Hello!

I have an Illustrator file with 10 artboards.

Up until yesterday I have been happily saving (file - save as - svg) my work as SVGs and always check the "Use Artboards" option. This gives me 10 individual SVGs. However now I am finding overnight that has broken.

Now when I save, I get 10 indiviaul SVG files but when I open each svg file there are 10 artboards inside the file instead of just 1 artboard per file.

Does anyone know what is happening? How I can fix it?

Note: Just updated to the new version (27.1.1) thinking issue was the old version and still having the same issue

Operating system MacOS Monterey Version 12.5.1

Adobe Illustrator Version 27.1.1

Did you check the "Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilties" option? This will keep all the artboards when opening the svg file in Illustrator.

Unchecking it will remove the other artboards.

Would using File > Export > Export for screens be an option?
