Issues with Install and Connection of Illustrator 2020 Version 24.3

Hello! 

I have Windows 7 Professional and I am trying to install Illistrator 2020. 

I run the install.exe file for Illistrator and after many hours of installing it gets to 99.3% and stalls there. I left if for 3 more hours to see if it would eventually complete but it didn't. My computer says that the program is still running (it's not frozen), but it just never finishes. If I end the installation and try to open either Creative Cloud or Illistrator is says that it cannot connect to the Adobe servers. I have tried:

- uninstalling both Creative Cloud and Illistrator and just reinstalling Creative Cloud app (to install Illistrator though the CC app)... Still get error saying that it cannot connect to the server. 

- I have uninstalled both CC and Ai2020 and reinstalled them twice but it keeps stopping at 99.3% complete.

- I have gone into my computer firewall and added both CC and Ai2020 to my allowed to connect to the internet list. 
- I have restarted my computer many times through out the ordeal. 

- I have reset my computer's clock.

- I went to the troubleshooting page and did all the suggestions there (tested my connection to the server which was fine), reset my hosts file with the program provided, checked for the GlobalSign root certificate, and cheecked I can access secure sites. 

- I can log into my account and access the Adobe page fine. I was also able to connect to the Adobe server at the start of the install to log in. I don't understand how it connect fine at one stage but not at the end - perhaps something to do with it not fully installing and stopping at 99.3%.

 

I don't know what else to try. If you have any other ideas or suggestions, it will be much appreciated!

I don't think Windows 7 is supported anymore.

Thank you for the reply. The install program told me because windows 7 wasn't supported on the new 2021 version, it would install an older version (2020), which it seemed to do.

Hi there,

 

Sorry to hear about your trouble. I guess @Monika Gause meant Windows 7 is no longer supported for the latest Illustrator version, and Microsoft also does not support it. But yes, you can install Illustrator 2020 on Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit) with Service Pack 1. Also, please visit this help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/system-requirements/2020.html) and see if your system meets other minimum requirements as well. Also, you may try upgrading to Windows 10 or uninstall all the Creative Cloud using the CC Cleaner tool and reinstall Illustrator CC 2020 from the Creative Cloud Desktop app. If this doesn't help, create a new Admin Account and try installing the app under it.

Hi Anshul,

Thank you for your help and suggestions. I have tried them over the past day, but alas no luck the install still pauses at 99.3%. I am going to try to upgrade to windows 10 and see if that helps.
