it will not curve corners

The Live Corners Widget will not appear when i try to curve the corners in this shape... why wont it work / what can i do?

View > Show Corner Widgets and use the Direct Selection Tool.

Corner Widget is not Hidden.

Try to direct select a corner and move it to see if there are corner points on top of each other.
