hey gang,

did illustrator change the keystroke combos for duplicating an object on a Mac? Command-Option-Shift doesn't seem to work anymore.

Holding down just the Option key and dragging the selected object(s) is (and has ever been) sufficient to duplicate the selection.

It still does work in current versions of Illustrator.

Hi Susan,

Thanks for reaching out. There has been no change in the keyboard shortcuts. I'd request checking out help article https://helpx.adobe.com/in/indesign/using/grouping-locking-duplicating-objects.html#duplicate_objects for more details.

If you want to customize these shortcuts, you may do that under Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts. Please find details under help article https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/customize-menus-keyboard-shortcuts.html#use_keyboard_shortcut_sets

Hope it helps.

Regards,

Ashutosh

When did that work for you?

And how?

Selecting something and hitting that key combo resulted in?

Using the solid selection tool in the tool box, you select can object, press control-option-shift and drag the object, and it dupes it... now you have me second-guessing myself...

Just dragging with the Alt (or Option on Mac) duplicates the object.

Add Shift  to constrain it, but Smart Guides will do the same for horizontal/vertical.
