Latex fonts missing in Illustrator Windows

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for your help.

I am using latex fonts to generate graphs on Python. I wanted to modify and arrange the graphs in a figure using Illustrator 2023. When I open the pdf of the graph I want to modify on Illustrator, it tells me that font CMSS17* and a bunch of other fonts are missing. I know for a fact that the fonts (*.pbf and *.pfm formats) are installed in C:/Windows/fonts for all users. I also checked for these fonts on the creative cloud font manager and they are not available there.

I followed this tutorial up to step 4 where the C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts doesn't show up on my computer, which leads me to think that it might be an issue with the Illustrator version (2023).

Please help!

PostScript fonts are no longer supported in Adobe apps. You need to use OTF fonts.
